I love celebrations and New Years is one of those special times, but I always seem to be overwhelmed by it. The events seem to be overpriced, which usually leads to high expectations, which leads to my disappointment. I also have a lot of plans for 2009 and don’t want to stay up too late so that I won’t be able to start the New Year off right! Therefore, I have come up with some ideas for my New Year that don’t cost too much and allow me the opportunity to start the New Year with an early start.
-Movie Night: Staying in to watch movies and banging pots and pans at midnight is an easy and fun way to bring family and friends together.
-Favorite Restaurant: Pictured here is my favorite restaurant in the bay area for special occasions, La Foret. I am contemplating going here for a relaxing meal to celebrate. The food practically melts in your mouth and the ambiance is exceptional.
-Watch the Sunset: The setting sun is a great symbol of the day’s end and in this case it will be the final sunset of 2008. This is a great way to relax and reflect on the year passing and set goals for the year to come.
-Lounge Music: Listening to music is a great way to relax and wind down the night, but still be doing something celebratory.
