Family Fun for Valentine’s Day

Author: Erika

Valentine’s Day is usually meant for lovers and couples, but when you have a family and there is no baby sitter to be found, you have to make the best of what you have to work with. Plus, what better way to share the love of Valentine’s Day by spending it with the entire family! Since this year Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday, you will have even more time to spend celebrating the holiday. Here are some of my top ideas for family fun this Valentine’s Day.

Breakfast in Bed: Use these pancake molds or wing it to make your breakfast more festive.

Family Movie: Pick out a family favorite or check out my romance movie picks: Casablanca, Enchanted, For Love or Money and Pride & Prejudice.

Baking: Use heart shaped cookie cutters to add character to your favorite cookie recipe. Check out this lavender cookie recipe by clicking the image below.

Crafts: Create something the whole family can enjoy. You can share these crafts with neighbors and other loved ones to show your spirit for this holiday. Here are some of my top finds: Valentine Wreath, 3-D Heart Decorations, Card Holder, and Sweet Heart Necklaces.

Valentine’s Day History

Author: Erika

Valentine’s Day is coming up this weekend and in honor of this widely celebrated holiday I wanted to take some time to find out how this holiday really came about. It so happens that there is a lot of mystery behind how Valentine’s Day came about, but I wanted to share these videos with you to give you a bit more information.

Here is a short video about the Valentine’s Day Massacre of 1929. It isn’t romantic at all, but occurred on February 14th.
