Solution!

Author: Erika

Last week I was struggling with the amount of time and money spent on Starbucks. So, I went searching for solutions and found the below:

frotherchaimochamilkcoffeemug

The first image is a milk frother that I purchased at Ikea for $2.99! It works WONDERS.

Following is Chai Latte and Mocha mix with easy to follow directions. For the chai latte, all you have to do is add milk. The mocha calls for milk and espresso which is a bit more complicated as I do not have an espresso machine, but regular coffee will suffice.

Heat it up, mix it together and froth away to create an easy and more cost/time effective option!

Success!

Worth it?

Author: Erika

Every morning I wake up craving a grande mocha. I think that I deserve it most times and splurge! I definitely see this as a luxury item that I could and should probably cut back on. The daily $3.50 adds up pretty quickly and over the course of the year (if one went every day) it would add up to almost $1,300!! With the current economy, I can’t help but think I need to cut back. At the same time, every morning it seems so worth it!

Cinco De Mayo Guacamole

Author: Erika

Happy Cinco Day Mayo!

In honor of this holiday, I got chicken enchiladas for lunch. I know that other colleagues celebrated with their usual Taco Tuesday meal (luckily it landed on the same day).

But, my favorite thing to eat on this holiday is guacamole. I love avocados! The best part about guacomole is that you can really personalize it to fit your taste buds.

I take a few avocados and chop them up. I then mix in some fresh lime juice, salt and pepper. You can also add spices to give it a kick. I smash everything together for this healthy and delectable snack! It is an easy way to celebrate the holiday and eat some fresh and healthy food!

What are your favorite meals to eat on Cinco De Mayo? How do you celebrate this holiday? Fill us in!

Klean Kanteen

Author: Erika

With eco-friendly products becoming a front runner in the market, I cannot help but be swayed by their eco and design appeal even with the additional costs.

I was in Whole Foods the other day and became enamored by the stainless steel canteens I saw adorning walls and displays. I thought to myself, “What a great way to help the environment, save money on buying water bottles in bulk and fashionable to boot!” Although, the initial cost of $20 made me think twice about my desire to purchase. Would I use it? Would it last? Is it worth it? I came to the conclusion that I must have it and I have been using it every day since the purchase!

Check out these colors. I chose the pink one!
